Terms of Service

These Terms of Service form a binding agreement between you and CareerScope governing access to and use of the CareerScope application and website.

Welcome to CareerScope. By accessing or using the CareerScope mobile application, waitlist, or website at yourcareerscope.com (the “Services”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. The Services

CareerScope is an AI-powered career discovery platform that helps users upload résumés, complete personality assessments, browse curated job recommendations, and save roles. AI-tailored draft cover letters and related application-assistance tools are planned for Beta and may not be available during closed alpha. Features may change during closed alpha, beta, and public launch. Some features may be invite-only or unavailable in your region. CareerScope does not automatically submit applications to employers on your behalf.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account. The Services are intended for individuals seeking employment information for themselves—not for scraping, reselling, or automated harvesting of listings or user data.

3. User Accounts

You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide and for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and device access. You must promptly notify us at support@yourcareerscope.com of any unauthorized use of your account. We may require email verification or identity checks (including Apple Sign In) to protect the Services.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Violate any law or third-party rights;
  • Upload malware, or attempt to probe, scan, or breach our systems or those of our providers;
  • Scrape, bulk-download, or commercially redistribute job listings or Service content without permission;
  • Impersonate others, misrepresent your identity or credentials, or submit fraudulent applications materials generated through the Services without review;
  • Use the Services to spam employers or send deceptive communications;
  • Reverse engineer the Services except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by law;
  • Interfere with other users’ enjoyment of the Services or overload our infrastructure.

5. Your Content

You retain ownership of résumés, questionnaire answers, and other content you submit (“User Content”). You grant CareerScope a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, process, transmit, and display User Content solely to operate, secure, and improve the Services (including AI processing described in our Privacy Policy). You represent that you have the rights needed to upload User Content and that it does not violate law or third-party rights.

6. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Features such as résumé analysis and match explanations use artificial intelligence and may produce inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or otherwise unsuitable outputs. When Beta cover-letter and related drafting tools become available, those outputs will likewise be AI-generated drafts for convenience only. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and deciding whether to use any AI-generated text before sharing it with employers or third parties. CareerScope does not automatically submit applications.

7. Job Listing Disclaimer

Job listings may be provided by third parties (including Adzuna) and can change or become outdated without notice. CareerScope does not control employer hiring processes, job availability, compensation, or workplace conditions. Links or apply actions may direct you to third-party sites governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

8. No Employment Guarantees

CareerScope is a discovery and productivity tool. We do not guarantee interviews, offers, employment, visa outcomes, salary results, or any particular career outcome. We are not your employer, recruiter of record, or employment agency unless expressly agreed in a separate written agreement.

9. Intellectual Property

The Services—including software, branding, UI design, logos, and documentation—are owned by CareerScope or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited license to use the Services as offered, no rights are granted. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works of our software or branding without prior written consent.

10. Third-Party Services

The Services depend on third parties such as Supabase, OpenAI, Adzuna, Apple, and hosting providers. Their availability and policies may affect your experience. We are not responsible for third-party outages or changes outside our reasonable control.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Services and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Services. Upon termination, your right to use the Services ceases. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute terms) will survive.

12. Disclaimers

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CAREERSCOPE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CAREERSCOPE AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO CAREERSCOPE FOR THE SERVICES IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS; IN THOSE CASES, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

14. Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify CareerScope against claims arising from your User Content, your misuse of the Services, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law, except to the extent caused by our willful misconduct.

15. Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Most concerns can be resolved by contacting legal@yourcareerscope.com. If a dispute remains, you and CareerScope agree to attempt good-faith informal resolution for 30 days before filing a claim.

Except where prohibited, disputes will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules in English. You and CareerScope waive class actions and class arbitrations. Either party may bring an individual action in small claims court. If arbitration is found unenforceable, exclusive venue shall be state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

Opt-out: You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days of first accepting these Terms by emailing legal@yourcareerscope.com with subject “Arbitration Opt-Out” and your account email.

16. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance, except where applicable law requires additional notice or consent.
